Winters Mess
What a mess I have waiting for me this Spring. Yesterday when I got to work it was 55 degrees at 5Am with a little rain. This was good though as I finally got to see the ground after over a month with snow cover. Also this was pretty depressing as I got to see the true ravages this winter has taken on my flower beds and lawns. The depressing part was that by the time I left at 1:00 the temperature had plunged back to 32 degrees and we are expecting an inch or three of snow today. So it will be a while before I can get in and start on the beds and lawn repair. I really get very antsy when I know there is work to be done but the weather will not cooperate.
This coming weekend Daylight Savings Time begins so we will have a bit more daylight in the evenings and that will be good for everybody’s mood. It will not really make much difference in the spring cleanup though as we work only till 1:00 each day. Okay okay I know you are jealous but before you get too envious just remember at 4:00 am when you are all nice and cozy tucked in with your blankie I am on the road headed to work. But then again All Summer Long it is 1:00 PM and I am off of work
Well anyways with the weather starting to improve each week my spring supplies are starting to arrive. I have already assembled and sharpened the hand pruners and lawnmower blades. So when the first decent weather hits we can get out and get stated. That really first warm sunshiny day will probably I will probably receive a host of calls about this that or the other thing that does not look good. I use to be bothered by that but now I just take it in stride an add it to the list. The thing I always remember is that the caller probably hasn’t looked at the grounds in the last 3 months as they were trying to scurry from their warm car to the warm building but today the weather told them to mosey on in instead. Hmmm I wonder how their garden was looking that day?
