The vegetable garden is finally starting to take shape after a very wet and cool spring.
So far I have harvested broccoli ,sugar peas, green onions and now the tomatoes are starting to come in the cucumber and cantaloupe are starting to climb the trellises and the pepper plants are starting to fill out.
I really enjoy the vegetable garden I can’t wait to see what is starting to produce each day. I learned a long time ago that 10 minutes spent each day weeding or grooming the garden not only avoids the drudgery of spending a lot of time working out there but makes for healthier plants and larger yield.
I do not have any real complaint about the weather you just learn to work around it. I am a bit concerned for our local farmers though here we are at the 20th of June and they are still out tilling and planting their crops.
The late crops are going to cause an economic hard ship and many of these farmers are already struggling to keep the farms going. I hope that we have a good summer weather wise and that the fall is going to be long enough to get all the crops harvested.
