So what is so special about growing a garden? Well it is not easy to explain but it is easy to understand. Everyone has 24 hours in a day and they are in control of how they spend it to some extent unless you are independently wealthy part of that time is spoken for by work.
The rest of your time is spent on other responsibilities and sleep. So time is a precious commodity which you should devote some time of for yourself. While each of us have others to devote some of our time to we all should remember ourselves as well.
For me I have been gardening professionally for over 45 years yet the best thing is that I still enjoy it today as much as when i started. Even though I am semi retired I still can’t wait to get out in the garden each day.
I have had many hours of formal training and book study some very useful some not so much. The best stuff I ever learned has come from failures those caused me to try other methods and push my limits.
Out in the garden it always peaceful and a chance to just relax as I work peacefully and leisurely on what ever project I have chosen for the day. I try to not stress over anything because this is my time and many times while working a thought occurs to me that solves a problem I have had been working on for a while.
When I was younger I learned that when ever you rush to finish something you will have to go back and fix whatever it is that you did. So taking more time to do it right the first time always pays off in the end.
Gardening is my passion and I find every bit of it fascinating but there are many who have other passions such as crafts, reading, cooking, art, collecting, and hundreds of other pursuits. What ever yours is you should embrace it and take the time to pursue it. You need to carve out a piece of time for your self and make sure you use it.
The special knowledge that I have about growing a garden is It Makes Me Happy….
That is enough.
