Ode To Winter In Chicago

Well it is the first week in March the weather should be in the forties it’s not! I don’t like so much to complain but instead of the light snow outside I would prefer a little rain. It certainly looks like Old Man Winter is going to try and do his best this year to keep spring weather away from Chicago for as long as possible.

With that in mind I got this email from someone a couple of weeks ago. I am not sure who the original author is but would like to share it with you.

My Sentiments Exactly

Oh, how I love Illinois
When the snow’s up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I’ll hang around.
I could never leave Illinois,
‘Cause I’m frozen to the ground

I suppose that it sounds a bit dramatic but there are times when that is what it feels like here this year. The 10 day weather forecast is calling for some warmer weather in the low 40′s the first part of next week . I certainly hope so, so I can get some of this winter debris that is still frozen to the ground cleaned up. I know some of my clients have called wanting to know when I will be out to take care of their gardens and do a spring cleanup as they are sick of winter too.

My reply is Patiences is a virtue.
