Well finally after one of the coldest spells I can remember we are above freezing and experiencing some milder weather at the urban garden. Saturday the temperature was 55 degrees. Yesterday it dropped back to 44 degrees. Today we will be in the mid fifties and tomorrow they are predicting the sixties. This will certainly get rid of some of that snow I was piling up. Usually the thaw comes in mid January but arrived late this year. I am not complaining. Chicago weather changes so quickly anyways that it is a small blessing to get a couple of warm days.
I know that winter is not over yet but it is certainly nice to shed that heavy gear and wear short sleeve shirts for a day or two. I think we may still have two maybe three good snow storms ahead of us yet. For now though we will take advantage of the good weather and do a little early Spring Cleanup.
