There’s a lot of joy to be had from spending time with our hands in the dirt, making sure that every inch of our garden is just as we want it to be. Yet while it’s more than possible to admit our gardens from afar, your non-gardener friends and family might not be able to glean as much pleasure as they’d like from your well-manicured green space. That’s why it’s always worth thinking about upping the fun factor, adding those little additions that’ll make your garden a space for all to enjoy, all the while not detracting from your creation. Below, we outline a few ways you can do it.
A Tucked Away Space
There’s magic to be had in a garden, as any gardener will tell you. It’s an escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern world, one free from rules and conventions. All of these characteristics make it a terrific place to create your own tucked away space, such as a reading corner. Most people have one in their homes, but the weather outside is nice, who wants to be cooped up indoors? It’s easy enough to do: all you need is a couple of pallets and a few cushions. Place them in a tucked away corner, and you can spend many hours lost in your own world.
Our gardens may look good all the year round, but they come into their own during late spring and summer. On a sunny evening, there’s no better place to be than outside, with your friends and family, enjoying the setting sun. For this to happen, you only need a few simple ingredients. Invest in comfortable outdoor furniture, a BBQ, and you’re good to go! To keep the evening alive, you might want to consider buying an outside wood burner, too.
For the Kids
As much as the adults might like reading corners and BBQs, they’ll be unlikely to satisfy a child with bags of energy! Make your garden kid-friendly by installing a few simple activities. In the summer, they’ll love having an inflatable pool to splash around in! Just make sure it’s high-quality….a waterlogged garden is the last thing you want.
Going the Extra Mile
Of course, if you’re really committed to fun, then the sky is the limit. There are two things in particular that will always solicit admiring remarks from visitors: an outdoor cinema, and a jacuzzi. Can you think of anything than spending an evening in a jacuzzi, before settling down outside to watch a movie on the big screen? We can’t!
Bring the Wildlife
Not all fun has to be man-made. Indeed, a lot of joy can be got from something that exists all around us: the natural world. Make sure your garden is a haven for wildlife, and you’ll be able to spend many pleasurable hours watching for those flying and scurrying creatures to visit your garden.
You’ve already got a beautiful garden; now you’ll have a super fun one, too!
