Taking A Break
Every summer I wish I had more time to spend doing things I wanted instead of the usual rush to get things done. I try to work on my projects, keep up the blog, run Glenns Garden Landscape Services, and manage all the daily tasks at the Urban Garden. It sometimes become very hectic. This weekend I am taking a break and heading to the woodland garden.
This of course may not be the stress reliever that I am hoping for. I use to head out there every weekend and work on the garden and various projects but have only made a couple of trips this year. I may cringe to see the condition and then setup a whole new stress factor to my life!
I really need to rest and not worry about everything but I know that once I get there I will want to start a list and get cracking on the latest project. Which this year I may need a ream of paper to make up. It is just in my nature to want to set things in order.
I do believe that while I had every intentions of keeping the woodland garden in a well maintained state that maybe it should become a more natural area with less formality. This would make it easier to accept the fact that time spent there does not necessarily mean time working there.
As nice as this area looks it does take some time to maintain the grass and keep the weeds and wild woodland plants at bay. I guess I will have to make that decision when I get there. It is very easy to sit back and make up your mind from the comfort of your office but when you actually get to the site and look at the condition of all the hard work you have already invested your mind can be easily swayed from your intended course.
I guess I will find out when I arrive. I will take my camera along to record the good the bad and the ugly and see if I can bring myself to post the pictures next week. Have A Great Weekend and try to get out and enjoy your gardens!

Is A Spa Right For You
Mention a spa or hot tub and a lot of people start to think about a luxury resort. The truth of the matter is that a lot of people benefit from having their own spa right at home. I have been recently thinking about purchasing a spa because at the end of a long day the thought of warm water swirling around my sore tired muscles has a certain appeal that as I get older seems to me to be a great idea.
I have done a lot of research and have found a great spa this is the one I decided should go in the back yard. The Jacuzzi Spa I have chosen is the Bullfrog Spa. This is a great fully self contained system with a unique designs the allows you to customize it yourself and has a great number of possibilities.
My first thought was I need something that is not going to be a lot of work in installing or setting this up and I wanted something that would be very durable.I also wanted something that would be low maintenance this is the best in Hot Tubs . A very sensible system and virtually leak proof make this the perfect system. You can even upgrade to more jets with out the need for a plumber or even cutting into the spa.
If you want an easy to care for system that will give you years of service than you need to check out these great Hot Tubs and Spas . Bullfrog Spas are the best solution click on the links above I am sure you will agree after you visit the site.

Blood Sweat And Tears
No I am not talking about David Clayton-Thomas and the boys from that great band. I am talking about the ingredients in a good garden. It may seem funny to speak about such an enjoyable past time this way but I believe it to be right on the mark.
It is hard to garden and never spill a little blood. Whether you smashed your finger while placing a retaining wall block or just pricked it while cutting that stunningly beautiful rose that you just had to place in the bud vase gardening does involve some blood. It is okay though because that will bound you closer to your garden. Anything that is worth spilling blood over is a valuable asset and one which is much more appreciated.
Sweat is not something that sounds very pleasant a friend of mine prefers the term glistening she says that women don’t sweat. What ever you want to call it you will perspire if you garden. There is just no two ways about it. Working up a good sweat as they say is not only healthful it lets you know that you have been doing something.
Tears are a natural part of gardening. There are many types of tears. There are bitter sweet tears that come while in the garden and thinking about friends and loved ones who have past away and all the good memories you have of time spent with them in your garden. There are tears of frustration that come after struggling to grow a certain type of plant and coming out to the garden and finding it wilt away again after so many previous attempts. There are tears of anger after finding that beautiful lily ,which was just a day away from blooming, had become a delectable meal for some passing deer the night before. There are also tears of joy when you have finally completed a project and it came out even better than you imagined it ever could and realized that what you were looking at was born of your own creative juices.
Yes gardening does involve blood sweat and tears but it is a part of the experience and binds you even closer to your garden. It is what really gardening is all about it . You put your heart and soul into it and it then becomes a part of you. You will reap the rewards though from it so to spill a little blood or to shed a few tears it is a small price to pay for the return on your investment. For memories and tranquility and an inner peace that can refresh and rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul.
