Black Friday

Well it looks like the race to Christmas is on. Everyone is up and about already shopping for the holidays. Some of the stores are opening at
5 AM some at 2 AM some even opened at midnight. Great bargains if you are one of the five or ten who get them before the supply runs out. I don’t really get it I guess.

I am not so much a holiday sort of guy I guess. Seems to me that if you want to give someone a gift then you go get them one. I don’t like the concept of giving someone something because of the day of the year. The thing that is really scary is that a vast majority of the retailers and manufacturers in this country would shutdown and board up their business if there were no Christmas Shopping. I like that small children have Christmas Or what ever holiday that your religion or culture celebrates but for instance if I had to buy a gift for every member of my immediate family it would amount to well over 30 gifts. Then think that they would all be expected to buy that many each as well . Seems like the fact that it is expected is what bothers me the most.

I like the idea that you should spend time with family and friends and celebrate I just don’t like the fact the I should be expected to buy a gift. I really don’t like the fact that others should by me a gift! I think that if there is something that I want I can go get it I really do not like someone else giving it to me just because it is the holiday. I think spending time together should be enough.

Just my opinion maybe I am just a scrooge!
